Fences like these along our border with Mexico have been unable to stop the thousands of illegals entering the U.S. each day.  Far too many Americans remain ignorant of the worsening violence that now awaits law enforcement personnel because of the drug cartels and human smuggling.  While responding to a Border Patrol request for help on August 9, 2002, National Park Ranger Kris Eggle was shot and killed by a drug smuggler armed with an assault rifle.
